Nothing I can say that hasn't been said by others, except to add my 5 stars to the rating total. I will mention that mine has been dropped on the floor several times in the last year with no visible damage - that's quality construction. I suppose it sharpens about two pencils per day, and shows no signs of wearing out.

At least a couple decades ago I bought a Panasonic electric pencil sharpener. It was black, like this one, but was a different model. Mine was horizontal rather than vertical. In any case, the Panasonic Sharpener been an excellent office appliance and I've been very satisfied with it. The auto stop puts a perfect point on the pencil every time. I've had no trouble at all. I hope these newer models work as well as my ancient one.

This is the first pencil sharpener in my 10 year teaching career that has remained alive after a full year in my classroom. Kids are hard on sharpeners and I end up buying two or three every year. This panasonic is durable and works the same now as it did in September, sharpening 25-30 pencils a day! Genius!!!

This is a very good piece of equipment if you still use wood pencils.
It is heavy enough that it does not move when you use it and it is powerful enough to do a great job.
