I bought a 25 pack of these around two years ago at Office Depot, and the Gold Box deal that I purchased the ones I received yesterday from Amazon, seemed to be a fair deal to replenish our dwindling supply, considering that Amazon stated that the "List Price" for a box of 25 was now $65.75.

I am sorely disappointed. The pockets received yesterday are less than half the weight and thickness of my older ones and are manufactured using a different, cheaper type cardboard with no stabilizing exterior finish. These new holders are a poor imitation, or substitute, for the same quality product, Made in the USA, that I paid Home Depot $34.00 for two years ago.

Check out the picture that I submitted and compare it to the pictures of the new replacement product. These new ones are only worth, at most, far less than a dollar each.

These new folders were assembled in Mexico, most likely out of Chinese produced paper and glue. Smead may have increased their profit margin by selling this cheaper, less durable product at twice the price as the older folders, but they have lost a long time customer. The next time I buy office supplies it will be in person, at a local store so that I can inspect the product before I buy it.
